don' t know if these were assembled in Canada or just sold only in canada 

If you want a bit of an eye opener go on ebay and see what the wrangler emblems and hood ornament are being listed  for

My father -in '81- traded his '79 T/A for a new Chevy 1500 short box 2 wheel drive Red/White Street Coupe. Very hard to come by today. My stepmom just sold that truck a couple of years back. Was a real neat truck.......

American Motors had control of the Wrangler name in the States so GM couldn't use it there but for some reason that didn't apply to Canada. If any were built in the US they would have to be for export.

Friend of mine has a "REAL" Indy Pace Truck, 1980 [I think] square Body short box , have driven it and not a rattle in it[ bit of wind noise though]

I THINK they built Chevrolet and GMC pickups in Oshawa in the early '80s, but couldn't swear to it. My Bro lived in an apartment right down by the complex, and I recall seeing fields of "squarebodies" there, but it could have been they were just being marshalled for McCallums (remember them?) to redistribute off the railcars to dealers.
