Yes I believe that is true. Those are a great little engines other than the fact that they were seriously underpowered! But I don't ever recall any of our customers having any trouble with them. They seemed pretty bulletproof.

I saw a Chevette diesel decades ago. It was nearly new at the time. If I remember it was phenomenal on fuel mileage but underpowered compared to a gas Chevette. Yes, Isuzu engine.
