I wrote to McKeel Hagerty about Hagerty's Valuation Tool for Canadian Cars...he actually answered me.

A little over a year ago we had a discussion on the forum about Hagerty's non-existant Valuation Tool for Canadian cars.

I sent the head man McKeel Hagerty this email May 20,2021.

Hello  McKeel,

After reading your column from the latest Hagerty magazine (great read by the way)
I thought I would "shoot you a note" regarding an issue we here in Canada have
with the Hagerty Valuation Tool.

I own a 1963 Pontiac Parisienne, a car built in Canada for the Canadian market.
It's not like the American Pontiacs with it's wide track wheel base or it's 389 cu. in motors.
Our Pontiacs in the 50's and 60's were a cross between a Chevrolet  chassis and motor and
the body styling of Pontiac. So the car is different with different names.
Strato-Chief, Laurentian, Parisienne, Acadians, Beaumonts,
Some body sheet metal was even different from their American counterparts.

Chrysler and Ford of that era also had hybrid cars built in Canada, some being very
unique like the Mercury trucks of the 50's and 60's that Mercury in the U.S. didn't have.
Even Pontiac 2+2's in the late 60's were not available in the U.S.A.

I have mentioned this difference a number of times through Hagerty's "How are we doing"
surveys over the years and haven't heard anything  about  Hagerty actually getting
Canadian cars a place in the Hagerty Valuation Tools.

I won't get into the other "American" cars built in Canada with right hand drive for the overseas market like Australia :)

We Canadian Pontiac owners have our own site for our unique vehicles.
Maybe Hagerty magazine could do a feature on our unique Canadian autos.

So in closing I was hoping that you might be able to push the right buttons
to get  the valuation Tool updated to include all our unique Canadian cars and trucks
for all Hagerty's Canadian customers.

Wishing you the best through these pandemic times.

Take Care,

George

This was his reply, hopefully he  will get the job done.:

Thanks, George, I am going to share this with our valuation folks. Thank you for flagging me on that.

 Agree, and good job George.

Just got my Hagerty renewal and a $40 fee added for Hagerty Value Analysis. They included the Cherished Salvage Endorsement. 96025E38-BED5-4811-9F2F-BE6C08CECD70.jpeg
