Minty car.

1984 olds delta 88 royale brougham

Completely original including the beautiful paint, absolutely like new, interior, exterior and underneath. Vinyl roof and all of its trim is like new

307 cu in, OD transmission, drives better than it looks, needs nothing. Very rare to find in this condition with such low mileage, it’s immaculate. Not a hint of rust anywhere. Always stored and always dry

Not eager to sell, but would consider trades for a small boat with motor and trailer or another classic car in similar condition, I do like some corvettes, but open to many others, Send me what you have and I’ll take a look. Hurry before I change my mind, I’m like the weather.

Email or text 9024992857 Value of car $13,000

What a nice car!

I sure remember us putting lots of those trunk racks on at the dealership. Oh, the holes we drilled in brand new cars!

My "better off friend down the street" had parents who drove a then-new 78 Delta 88. I remember going camping with them (they towed a big "Golden Falcon" trailer) and couldn't get over how smooth that car rode and how cold the AC was.

Well sure enough, no A/C. Wow, that will be a deal breaker for most prospective buyers.

A farmer I worked for at 15 years old had a brand new, baby-blue Olds 98. That car was like a hovercraft. It was one of the first cars I had been in with cruise ... you couldn't tell what speed you were doing.

Hard to get that kind of money for one of these cars imho. After Dad retired, he had a used car license in pei and I used to buy these cars for him to sell, probably bought about 15 of them. Amazing how good they were on fuel if you didnt abuse them. And they run forever. This is a nice one for sure

The luggage rack kind of ruins the look of the car IMHO, and I'm not even sure how useful it would be.  There doesn't appear to be much to tie down to, and once you have it loaded you can no longer get into the trunk!  And it's ugly... biggrin

To my eye the trunk rack sort of adds to the car giving it just a little touch that we don't often see. However functionality is a whole different question.

It certainly has an 80's flair to it.

My tastes are usually more along the line of 'less is best', but I can certainly see your point.  Period options always add interest to an old car.

Put on the black socks, sandals, striped shirt and checked shorts. It's time to put the luggage on the rack and head to Boca Raton.biggrin

Imagine what would happen in a downpour.no

Hey... how did you know about my wardrobe preferences? confuse

My thoughts about luggage racks might be influenced by something that happened many years ago.  My dad sold Pontiacs for years in the 1960s, so he always had a nice big Parisienne as a demonstrator and we always rode in comfort on family vacations.  Well, in 1971 the dealership (for reasons unknown to me) switched to Datsuns so our next family vacation was in some Datsun wagon with a roof rack, which we used because a family's luggage wouldn't fit into the little tin can.  Of course, my strongest memory of the trip is seeing the luggage fly off the roof and land on the highway behind us (Dad wasn't a master knot-tyer biggrin) and cars swerving to avoid running over the suitcases.  So we turned around and Dad dodged traffic to pick up the damaged bags - luckily none of them opened but they all got some road rash.  So there you have it... I don't like luggage racks... wink

I agree with Ted on this one, I've always been a luggage rack appreciator. Dad had one on a 85 Buick Somerset two door. Of course you have to have the right car and on a two door coupe it can work and of course on roadsters it goes without saying. When I was searching for my Corvette the first must have was Convertible followed by luggage rack. Turns out that luggage rack makes the Corvette a 1 of 3 car in the all important Corvette numbers matching world.

Not only is it an Old car its an Old Car for Old Guys!

Put this in perspective, In 1975 if you saw a 1938 Ford there would have been no question is was an old car.
