1963/1964 Console Tach

$250, a bit of rust, not mine. Not familiar with one in a console, just know of the one in the left dash corner.

Pontiac never put a tach on the console in 1963/1964.

As you mentioned, they go on the left side of the dash.

1963 Tachometers use mounting bracket part# 9771026.

1964 tachometers use mounting bracket #977037 or #9774565.

63s and 64s mounting brackets are not interchangable as the contour of the dash is different.

63's adaptors I think are reproduced, but I don't think 1964 mounting adaptors are.

Thanks George, now I know. Is the 63 and 64 tach the same, just different mounts? Is this a 63 or 64 assuming they are different? Just curious and not interested in this one.

Yes both the same, just a different adaptor to mount.

Putting the two adaptor mounts side by side you'd think they were the same....but not.

At the end portion of the dash where it curves around the 1963 has a single horizontal line in in the middle of the curve,

the 1964 has multiple horizontal lines in the curve. The curve is also slightly different.

Same difference on Canadian and American models.

Couldn't have said it better George.

The tach in in ad is rusty on the outside, I wouldn't trust it's innards.
