Hey 66 327 sd, thanks for the shout out. After the summer settles down I'm going to make a page on my site that heralds all Canadian only muscle.
As I've been writing for Muscle Cars Magazine I've had to educate myself on the many Canadian only cars (as I wrote the feature on the Rick Yackemic '65 409 Pontiac Parisienne) and trucks of which I have a couple, my '72 Swinger 340 Special (as you called out here) and my '70 Fargo Dude.
Go Canada!!!

Great story, Love hearing about any car that was special built and flew under the radar.

And especially Canadian cars.  The Jury, this Dart, the Cheetah to name a few.

what a great and interesting article. being from windsor brought back memories

of when i worked as an apprentice and mechanic at a serve-station from 1968-77.a lot of my friends

worked at chryslers and built those cars. they used to 'boost' parts and give them to me

[hood-pins, lanyards, signal lights etc.]..also if they bought cars ,they were given the

day off in order to follow the build of their car through the plant .of course there was

a lot of heavy duty parts installed along with additional accessories.it was a cool era.

 Bob,

I was one of those guys who worked on the line at Chrysler 1971/72.

I'm probably responsible for putting parts on Cliff's Swinger as it went down the line.. Chrysler sales kept us busy for the two

years I was there. We worked 6 days a week during that time. Great pay in those days too.

We made $5.08 an hour plus time and a half on Saturdays. Production on two shifts was 1,040 cars a day.

Gas was about 40 cents a gallon.

You're right Bob, the era was cool.

I've known Cliff for about 50 years and he is indeed a good writer and a really great graphic artist. He must have done a lot more digging than i ever would be motivated to do to find out that stuff. Quite mazing really.

Bob Beveridge sold trucks at Edmonton Kenworth for many years; don't know for sure it's the same guy, but it's not the most common surname. Little Bros. Ford, in Weston, did a run of 289 K-code Falcons a few years earlier, that pop up, from time to time, in Blue Oval buff magazines.

Good to hear from another "Bonestock guy". Terry is on this site a bit also with his Strato-cheap.
