hi seen a 1970 Acadian tonight it had all chrome ss wheels like a 1970 chevelle wheel he said it came from factory like that ... he said only 50 ss acadians built in 1970 ?????
yes and no no trim ring just chrome wheel and painted inserts black.... i told him thats not factory and he jumped all over me i will bet you i just backed off .
IIRC, earlier Magnum 500s (1968 and before?) were chrome wheels without trim rings. Without taking the time to research, it seems to me you could buy them still from the aftermarket.
I've always preferred the chrome Magnums without trim rings, personally.
Edit: These are the ones I'm talking about, though it might just be a Mopar thing, not sure.

All chrome Ralleys were offered on Mopars 1966-68; 69' up a trim ring was added. On Cutlass 1965-69 the 6" chrome with out the trim ring was offered (was not available on disc brake car). In 1970 a 7" all chrome was available for the disc brake car. Both Mopar and GM offered other wheel options usually with a trim ring.
