1972 GTO London, Ont.

Lots of original cars around, this one is redone. We all know that costs big money. Originally purchased by a woman. Could explain the rare column shift/bench combo. Very cool car, won't see one at a car cruise. Family owned since 1978. Was restored to keep. Life does not always cooperate. Power windows, rear defog, 3.55 gears, rally IIs, new TAs, orig 400. Its here now ready to drive. How many GTOs can be left from 416 cars imported with a 400, let alone a 455. If you can even find a RESTORED real '72, not a clone, in the US and figure out how to get it here, you are looking at 45K US. Add 10K exchange, Trudeau tax and freight, you are past 60K fast. GM Canada docs available. Serious offers only please. $47472

Interesting wording in the ad.  Even though lots of money is put into a car to restore it, is it actually worth more than an original survivor car?  This one is very nice, and I like shiny floor pans even if they never came out of the factory looking that way.

I see from the ad that it's an estate sale - it always makes me sad to think that the owner isn't around to enjoy the restoration that he obviously put a lot of time and money into...

I wonder how rare the column shift and bench seat are in a GTO?

Surprisingly not as rare as you would think. A guy here has the same combo but it is is a GTO

there is an original owner '72 455 GTO in Mt Brydges, ON  dk green. It seems to me that it is also a bench seat car (stand to be corrected)

More then likely it is a dealer bank or stock car to have on the lot. Ordered all the common items then tacked on the W62 option

Youre not the only one. But I'd much prefer Lucerne Blue
