Sorry, but I'll trump Ray on this one.

I have always loved the 49 Caddy. Almost bought one in Orillia 30 years ago, but just couldn't swing it.
This is a beauty.

Regards, Scott (LandShark ...)

Wow   144 photos    Find the gas cap!

1949 Hidden gas cap   what were fuel prices back then?

I worked in an Esso station and a  55 or 56 had hidden gas cap.

Love it!

I had a '51 Superior hearse in my impetuous youth - my first ever engine overhaul - but the project was beyond my capabilities and budget. Then, we bought a low-mileage "little old lady" '50 Series 61 2D hardtop, in '92, and DROVE it back to Mississauga from Orlando, starting out three days before Hurricane Andrew wiped out large tracts of the state.

Sold it when I bought my '62 Impala SS 409.

But, two months ago, I bought this:

...at the Greensboro collector car auction. I think I'm into it "right". All I've done to it is have the clock converted to solid state (and 12V), charge the a/c, and replace the head unit shown with a current one that handles Apple CarPlay.

I'd drive it anywhere. It goes and stops with modern traffic, but corners like a pontoon boat.

Nice. All the modern stuff you need with the classic styling.
