HI I'm new to the forum my name is Rod. I have owned Pontiacs for over 30 years. Mechanic by trade. I have just bought a 62 strato cheif and cant find any info on gas tanks. Does anyone know if the 62 impala tank is the same. Or if it can be modified to fit. Thanks
Yes impala. Be sure to buy the canadian made spectra premium one. Its hands down the best. Keep ane eye on rock auto for the best price. It changes on rock often.

Adding to what Dave said about Spectra tanks I purchased my last tank from them through PartsAvatar. Price was a little higher than rock auto but they have free shipping with purchases over a hundred dollars. Tank was cheaper through them for me and came exactly when they said.
Would have prefered a Spectra like I did on my 67, but I was looking for the cheapest possible price. I bought a Liland global tank for my 65 from rock auto. Even with shipping it was only $200 cdn to my door, and came well packaged, was undamaged and took about 4 days to arrive. Mind you, it's a painted tank (cheapest), but it looks and works just fine.

Whats the paint code on the firewall trim tag? Probably original paint?
