I good example of painting a bunch of lipstick on a turd
Would it not have been a good idea to get all mechanicals and systems functioning correctly on this "classic" before making it look pretty for resale. I mean, how hard is it to lube up a good set of hood hinges. now it leave me asking: so how is the mainbearing clearance? or did they tighten all the balljoints correctly?
This is what i hate about most classic cars and especially auction vehicles. i guess i build all my cars ass backwards. i really dont care what they look like as long as they function perfect

Their morals and ethics were likely too high for todays world?
Hard to believe someone didnt discover this problem earlier. It was likely junk reproduction hinges, not a lack of lube. Probably the buyer got a deal on that one?

Probably the hood. When those trucks were common I was in a body shop and the guys bent a brand new Taiwan hood when installing it. They bought another one and reinforced it before installing it on the truck. I think the hood was $100 back then and a GM part was almost $500. This was in the 90s, $500 was a lot of money back then.
