Very Interesting build. I wonder how many Laurentians of any model got a 409, seem to me when we see original 409s they are usually Parisienne Custom Sports.

Late fall 1964, York Mills Pontiac (Toronto) as an 18 year old apprentice I helped a mechanic c/o the blown

rear end on a black 65 Strato Chief 2 door post 409-340 4 speed.

Blown rear end and elongated stud holes in the wheels, now how did that happen.....no

Sure is a nice looking post. The only (and I mean only) niggle with it, are those add on emblems. Maybe put the small 409 somewhere appropriate, but the flags and Hurst?

The car would have just come with the V8 emblem, right?

Years ago at Carlisle there was a 1963 Biscayne four door that was a 409 three on the tree. The 409 was the only option other than a heater, the car didnt even have a radio. The seller had documentation from new and apparently the original owner had dump trucks and wanted the same engine in his personal car. It would have been interesting to know the production numbers on that car!

I, for one, have already been exposed to my capacity of acronyms.

I didn't know what NOM referred to either, but was inclined to ignore it and hoped it went away... biggrin

After working for the Government for 30 years ... YES. The Government is the worst offender.

You would think it would be NOE really. Calling an Engine a Motorno.
