Lets take a classic car and take the most classic thing out of it...who dreams this up?

Wanna see my fake 409 that's really a 1000 HP electric motor. All numbers matching except the 409!

If you are going to the trouble to make it look like the engine it replaces, then make it LOOK like the engine it replaces, not some kids plastic toy sitting way too high in the engine bay.
Just something for the Wanta Bees, they just don't get it.....

I would actually prefer to have large blocks of electronics and those giant orange wires than the fake engine.

Or just keep the hood closed.

A few of the high end body shops on the West Coast Island were involved in some of that nonsense.
Money talks. Not for this kid though.

60Grand US into a "lets say $ 60,grand [Cdn] classic car! What's it worth after conversion on re-sale market?? You've now have close to or over $ 150,000 in it!!! I'd say you just "de-valued" the car, can you make it to a show & back on charge, or tow a trailer with a "GAS" generator in it, to get you home!! Electric cars [ right now] are for short commutes, grocery getters!! NOT for long distance!! I could see my self driving to West Virginia & not getting too far past Buffalo before "running out of JUICE" A day & half trip [ used to do it in 1 day[ would now take 3 1/2 days if you could find a "fast" charge station & cost of plugging in??? NOT for me!! GM guy across the street brought home a VOLT a few years ago to test out for a week in the winter, couldn't make it to Oshawa and back to Blackstock on a full charge!!! 50 mile round trip!!!~~

Not really cost effective. My gas guzzler Classic car gets better gas mileage than my 2500 truck and I only average about 1500 miles a year in my classic car.

It doesn't seem practical based on the low KM's classic car owners drive. I could see if you were in Europe where some cities ban gasoline cars.

Not something for the average guy, but the rich guy who wants a classic but wants his friends to think he's not harming the environment.

If you want to dabble into electric conversions there are cheaper ways to do it.  Ken's cool Willys comes to mind.

whats the reason behind this, can someone explain to me how power is made , at least in this country, its not clean, nor is the disposal of the batteries or nuclear waste, the tech is glitch, but seem bound and determined to go down this route instead of dealing with the simple fact that government makes scads of money off of fossil fuel companies so they don't really want them to clean up or produce a cleaner fuel, the consumer is a much easier target to tax.
