I think there was a box mounted on the back of the back seat, sort of in the top well, when the rear speaker was ordered on a convertible. I recall seeing a picture of it.

I agree, a beautiful car. I owned two 66 Beaumonts in the seventies. A maroon custom station wagon and a maroon two door hardtop. I cant remember where the wagon went, but I sold the hardtop to a guy restoring a convertible. All I can say is the convertible was being driven in primer so I have no idea what colour it would become. The hardtop was really rusty by 1977 when I sold it. The trunk braces were so bad that the gas tank fell off on the ground. Its a wonder any of these cars survived.
