Looking for some 66 Grande door panel metal strips.

Longshot. For the 65 door panel rescue project.

I'm looking for someone who might have have 4 of the upper (or lower) door panel strips from a wasted field 66 Grande. Just the strips. Possibly for some trim on my 65 Laurentian door cards to cover a parting line. Along the red line shown.

Or any other possible ideas or items that might work here?

Thanks, Mark,

How long are they? I have the old ones out of my El Camino.

Still looking,

I should add, they can be strips from ANY door panel, provided they are removable from the panel, and at least 43" or 32" long.

Can also be the screw on? type such as the Beaumont lower door trim 65-66.

In looking on line, I see that many GM door panels in the 60's had this type of horizontal finish trim. I realize they can be bought new from OER, but at a cost (69 USD a pair) I'm not willing to do.

Thanks, Mark

If I remember, I will have a look through my stash this weekend and see what I have left.
Should be some 65 Impala ones and maybe some SS ones to rob.

Thanks Dan, any help appreciated.

I can't help but think there are lots of field cars out there that'll never be moved with these kind of strips still hanging on.

Thanks guys.

There are two different types. The retainer type that Jim has pictured (and graciously offered), which are the top bar from (I think) a 65-66 Chevelle / Beaumont. Those panels have the upper door frame as the top finished and painted section. The bottom card slides into the trim.

The others shown are just a flat molding attached in some way through the card which would be ideal in my case.

So far only found the Impala panels and they are different again. No tabs that push through, they glue on. 43 3/8"

I remember the SS ones having tabs that went through. I had an extra set from the rag top after I found better ones. Can't seem to find them maybe I did toss them out?

Anyway, if these will work for you they are yours, they have been kicking around for 20 years already ....

That would work Randy. As long as the guy will answer his phone....

What about pack them into a 2 x 44" long ABS tube. Tape the ends shut, then pack it in a 45 x 6 x 6 box and Canada post it?

*try a local carpet dealer / installer. Carpets of all types are usually shipped in tubes of some type.
