Well that looks interesting.  I'll remember to check it out next month.  Thanks for the heads up.

Saw the first episode and enjoyed it!

There was only about 5 minutes of "man drama" when they were trying to start an old Land Rover, unlike most shows that are 50% "man drama"!

I enjoyed it-the part where they went on a persons property and start looking under the hood of the Old Land Rovers seemed like a made for tv moment -middle of no where but the owner supposedly shows up wondering what they are doing-in some parts they would of been shot first and asked questions later-lol-I am sure for TV effect they talked to the owner first-when I saw the previews a few weeks back I thought it was down in Tennessee but lucky for us it's in Northern B.C.
Keep on Cruising!

Watched it tonight.  Fun show - the '34 Chev extraction was interesting.

I was wondering if it's common to randomly land a small plane in a farmer's field without scouting or notice.  Kept wondering what would happen if a wheel dropped into an unseen hole or what if they didn't notice a wire fence or something of the sort - or what if somebody happens to be out there that they didn't see before they started to land.  Have to think they must get the permission of the farmers before they do something like that as it sounds like a liability waiting to happen.

Yeah, other than the 'drama' at the Land Rover, I enjoyed the watch.

There was an article in the Victoria Times Colonist news paper this week about the business and the new show. Some of the vehicles they recover are restored and sold for profit. Seems they have a shop in the Coble Hill area between Victoria and Duncan BC.

Ya, unless it was an emergency landing.

She sure buzzes over properties, but we get the same thing here ... small planes and helicopters ... real estate and tourists. I used to joke that they are spying on my 400 plant grow-op (spruce)!biggrin

If something is flying or hovering over ones property are you allowed to shoot or knock it down ? Talking about unwelcomed drones or remote control scale aircraft.

Watched parts of two episides of this, both taking place in Saskatchewan, and I am undecided about whether or I like it.

On one hand it is essentially a show about a bunch a flippers who I sort of don't like on principle, but on the other hand they seem decent enough and they seem to treat the people they meet with respect.

Maybe I'm just jealous as I (and I suppose we) have  gone car hunting and maybe they are just more organized than I ever was.

Searching for the underpriced rusty grail is undeniably one of the most enjoyable parts of the hobby.  I guess the part that bugs me is that if they get them that means that there are less out here for the rest of us. On the other, other hand, my days of dragging cars out of somebody else's fenceline are done (I think) so have at 'er!

It seems most for the guys they meet know just enough about the vehicles to think they are worth as much in the rough as they are restored. Case in point: In this episode,  this guy wanted 7000.00 for a rusted  out 1972 Datsun 510 and the guy ended up paying 2000.00 (still way too much).

I do like the accents and I sure don't miss seeing blond dreadlocks and hearing moronic laughter.

So hey I'll probably watch a few more.

Have heard they are from my area. Don't know them and have never seen the Red Truck out here. Seems to be
a little over the top, who would bring out 5 vehicle and a small plane to hunt for vehicles before doing their homework??
Maybe 1 person out searching..

Totally contrived for the show I suppose.  The amount of money they must have to spend to do this would pretty much remove any chance at profiting from these cars in the real world.   It certainly is another extremely unreal car show.

Not sure what I would do if they showed up here, after watching them dicker, as they always use the old line,  "I have to be able to make a profit on this after all my expenses." I guess my answer would be "I didn't ask you to come here so why should I be the one to subsidize your business?"

I guess I wouldn't be on the show.

After the 1st. and 2nd. shows, which I enjoyed, it seems the "man drama" is creeping in more and more. I'm becoming more skeptical.

I also think that travelling from Vancouver Island, BC to North Battleford, Saskatchewan for several days with a plane, pick up, large car-carrier, and a gas pig Power Wagon; 5 people with accommodation, food, wage, etc. costs and not really knowing where you are going to search for cars is not very cost effective.

Not real.

Same here, but I do appreciate that they finding old cars, that would otherwise die a slow, slow death, and then bring them back into the light and the marketplace.

Do you watch Oak Island Treasure and American pickers, very similar in the way they repeat items to stretch out the show, hype everything they do, and their car finds. They paid more for a 61 Chrysler 2 door HT that was quite rotted than for a 68 or 69 Dart GT that looked drivable. Seems they hype whatever they find regardless of significance.

Oak Island tv cable revenue has made those 2 brothers very rich, this show and Rust Valley are milking the same cow. Oak island is currently drilling a 10 ft diameter hole and going down at least 100 ft, that has to cost millions. They have a crew of 10-15 people and are finding chunks of wood in a swamp they are carbon dating back as far as the year 400AD. I would guess they have spent $20 million here since they started.

What surprises me is how easily the wheels turn on some of the vehicles that have been sitting for 50 year

in the most recent episode they pulled an old Essex wood spoke wheels car  out of the the bush and the wheels were spinning as they moved it

No kidding! I was reminded of one of the last cars I brought home. When I was looking for parts 66 Grandes, I kept finding 1967 Grandes (oddly enough) and I ended up with three. One was a 327 400 turbo car complete down to the battery still in it and none of the wheels would break loose no matter how much pounding and prying I did so I had to drag it onto the trailer with 4 flat tires. Talk about a dead pull! Nearly killed the winch. I used the same trick they did and used some scrap in the yard as sleds under the wheels.

At least once I got in on the trailer I figured I wasn't going to roll off and true enough, it never budged the whole trip!

Its this kind of stuff that keeps you looking I suppose.

Don't get me started on Oak Island.no

My neighbour was on the show as an expert (he is oceanic geologist and did the sonar soundings of the well or pit or whatever that was full of water) a few seasons ago. He said that the show is total B.S. fiction.

I find more interesting items in the soil on our property that has been in my wife's family since the 1820's. You should see the artifacts I have, but no gold!cry

i agree didn't even get through the first episode. you can tell the show is 100 percent scripted. bitchin rides is the only show out there that is not scripted, no dumb story lines and you actually get to see them working on cars. the metal work they do there is incredible.

The only one I can sit through is Graveyard Carz (new episodes now that the characters that caused drama are gone). Sure the owner is a bit silly but they actually educate viewers about the cars (all Mopars however). I do watch Dennis Collins on Youtube and some of the Powernation shows on there as well.
