I got the Cooker P215/75R14 AMERICAN CLASSIC 1" WW for my 65. They look great but they are not a nice tire on the road. I've had the wheels professionally straightened, balanced a couple of times, car realigned but the car has a shimmy at speeds between 40 to 50 mph, higher speeds, it seems to disappear.
The company that straightened the wheels said they were not a great tire.
Again, they look great though and seem to be wearing fine. Not that they get a lot of mileage.
I would be tempted to try the HanKook if I was you

I've had both the Cooper and Hankook tires (215 75 R14) on my 68 2+2 and they were both great. Looked good and reasonably priced.

If I had to pick one over the other, it would be the Cooper, just for aesthetics sake.

Regards, Scott (LandShark ...)

I bought recently a set of 235/75 R15 Hancook Optimo at Walmart (US) online for $80 including US shipping and these are big tires. Hard to beat them value wise. They drive nice but read width is narrower than more expensive tires of same size, also like Cooper and other cheaper brands the white of the whitewall isn't bright white like on pricier brands like Maaxis, there is a yellow ting that can't be scrubbed away.

The only other thing that I would add about my Cooper tires was their after sale service. One new tire had a flaw in the white wall and after convincing them that it wasn't a mark that could be scrubbed away with SOS pads, they sent me a brand new tire. I had to prove that I destroyed the original buy drilling a whole through the sidewall, but it wasn't a big deal.

Im not sure why but Im having a heck of a time sourcing out white walls. maybe its the size? Im looking for a 14"equivalent to my 195 65 15 which seem to come in at 195 70 14.
I couldnt even find coopers, I did find some Hankooks I can bring in from the USA.
Im just waiting to finish a bit of front end suspension and get an alignment, I will then be able to measure how much room I have in the wheel well.

Thanks for all the info, I look into all the suggestions.

Can we the rest of this car ?

Maybe as a feature car ?

Would love to see the interior shots and the engine.

And always, the story of the car wink

My car came with Hankook's date coded 2011, when I bought it in 2012.

Have not used them in 4 years but no signs of age or cracking like the Michelins do.

Ill see what I can do.

Im new to the online sites and struggle trying to figure out how to post, delete, message, respond.... as you can see by the size of the photo in my posting LOL

I will try to send some to you if that's ok? If they work, its a start in the right direction.

can you let me know if you get 8 pics and if they are ok.

thanks,

Brad

The car is a beauty driver, mostly original and Im trying to go back to the original tires and caps. Ive had to machine the front disc conversion to allow a 14" rim to fit. the interior is sweet.1.jpg3.jpg4.jpg5.jpg6.jpg8.jpg10.jpg11.jpg

195/75R14 Radial whitewalls

Diamond Back I - 14 Inch White Wall Tires & 15 Inch White Wall Tires : (dbtires.com)

They scrub the sidewalls down, and vulcanize the correct whitewall size in place.  I've been running 225/70R14s of theirs on my '62 Impala for 20+ years, and roughly 6,000 miles/10 000km, with no deterioration in the cosmetics.  If I keep the car, though, I will replace them because of the age.

As everyone is saying, would you be willing to submit the story of your car and some pictures so it could be featured at the top of the page?

Hi Pete,

nice to see from you.

Im plugging away at small things to spruce up the car. I thoroughly enjoy it, and thank you again for taking the time to do an inspection on the car for me.

Im waiting for a 200r4 to be delivered but the highways took a beating from the floods and Im not able to meet it yet.

Im in no hurry and the car is not coming out of the garage for a while anyways.

I would be interested in a feature.

I dont have too many other pics at the moment. I'm replacing a few front end suspension parts and then once I have it aligned I will determine the size of white wall tire I can fit. My plan is to be able to run the original hub caps or rally wheels on 14"rims.

Is there a time frame you are thinking of?

I would say contact Todd and see if he has any cars lined up in the future or if he would need it for February. I for one am certainly looking forward to it because I had a white 65 Sport Deluxe for 27 years.
