Merry Christmas from wintery Manitoba.

I love it when we have some snow and it's cold on Christmas. It just doesn't feel right to have Christmas on the prairies when it's balmy! Did that last year, it's just not the same...

It could have been a very bad Christmas for my family today but thankfully the Good Lord was looking over my son. He was heading to London from Ottawa this morning to visit his mom for Christmas on the 401 and just outside of Kingston he lost control of his car on black ice and spun across all three lanes kissing the median barrier with his rear bumper. Luckily there wasn't much traffic at all and he and his two dogs are fine. The car seems ok other than a crunched in bumper cover. He sent me a photo and the bumper may be repairable. I can feel a few more grey hairs forming on my head.

Weve had freezing drizzle here in Ottawa Todd, it was coming down last night and much of today. What I find weird was the temperature was between -8 and -5, never got above-5. That black ice would be really hard and smooth. I stayed indoors today. Glad he got off so easy.
