EV 1000 km range Mercedes

https://www.motorauthority.com/news/1134289_mercedes-vision-eqxx-ev-concept-revealed-promises-621-mile-range

It has a new battery with the same power as their existing EV, half the size, and 30% lighter. No mention of charging time. It wont be cheap.

While I've never been what you would describe as a Mercedes fan, the technology showcased is promising.  While a number of EVs are just appearing to be electric versions of IC cars, this one is actually aiming at efficiency, rather than simply "it's better for the environment than a gas car", even though it weighs 6000 lbs and has the profile of a truck.

I'm wondering what a 900 V electrical system looks like though.

The 0.17 drag coefficient is impressive, as is its efficiency.

"In terms of overall efficiency, Mercedes said the concept uses less than 10 kwh of electricity per 100 km. That's the amount of energy needed to run a home's air conditioner or tumble dryer for about three hours."

FWIW, I think the styling has nice elements, though that's purely subjective of course.

I like the styling as well. I just watched a Youtube interview of the chief scientist at Toyota and he said they are 2 years away from releasing solid state batteries. No word on capacity and charge times. Apparently they'll be coming out in Hybrids first.

Aerodynamics seem to have been forgotten as well as weight when it comes to modern vehicles by manufacturers and buyers. Manufacturers are making what sells and makes profit, but why not experiment with going more aerodynamic and lighter which would improve fuel economy, whether electric or otherwise. Who knows, some aero may sell and be better looking than that Tesla thing?

The 4door 4wd top sellers in pickups weigh 5000-7000 lbs. My 59 el Camino, a big boat with an unlimited towing capacity, it weighed 3750. A 76 delta 88, huge car, weighed about 4450.

Check the aerodynamics on the current Silverado.

I know its a matter of personal taste, but that is just butt ugly. Its like they went out of their way to make it painful to look at.
