Dont get this. Why build it a four door with a long wheelbase ? Most off roaders are short nimble things with a short wheelbase.

Most off roaders never go off road, except when they skid off the road in snow and ice? The objective of buying one of these is to look good? Suzuki SamuraiS are hot now even though they dont make them anymore, but they are great for off-roading, as opposed to a 4 door Raptor. $111,000, for an F150- the world is nuts.

Like your new avatar pic, Don.

As for the Raptor, it has some serious stuff under there, but I see it more as a desert racer kind of truck, than a crawling through tight forest trails kind of truck.  Not that anybody is going to pay $100K for a new truck and then go out an destroy it on the trails (though there will be some that do, I'm sure).  I look at trucks like these to be designed for the second or third owner, once the price goes down sufficiently such that the owner isn't afraid to use it as intended.

On most trails around here that I've experienced, it would get hung up somewhere in the first hour, and then require a Suzuki Samurai to tow it out... biggrin

$111k MC, you left $11,000 on the table, enough to buy a half decent used pickup. The tax on $111k=$16,650 so if you buy one for list price, $127,650. Probably have to pay a premium on list too.

$11,000 used to be enough to buy a good used pickup! In Manitoba that only gets you a rusty 300,000+ KM pickup these days...

LOL... I used $100K because the base price is $86K, but the truck tested was averaged up to $111,434 (if you want to be precise... wink), so since not every truck will be optioned to the max I just tossed that number out there.  To me $86K may as well be $100K or $111K - it's all too much to pay for any pickup, much less one that you are going to have branches scratching the sides, tree trunks taking out the mirrors, and big rocks on riverbeds twisting up the rear bumper like a pretzel (DAMHIK)...

Personally, I wouldn't even pay the tax for one, though, as I'm not really into trucks, unless they are from the 1970s and before.  smile

If you pay that much for a truck its too bad you cant actually use it as a truck. Seems kind of pointless other than letting everybody know how rich or alternatively, in debt you are.

$111,000 is 3/$37,000 or 4/$27,750; or 5/$22,200. You could get a lot of nice old vehicles for $111,000.

And a new Z06 Vette has a list price of $106,250. Seems the +/-$100k mark is popular. Goes well with million dollar houses, $1.70/liter gasoline, and $5,000 exercise bikes. Someone has lots of money. Likely the same guy as in Todd's post with the vintage '90's Pontiac sedans for $15k...

(As an aside, I might be wary of the Vette price. Here's the disclaimer from the CCP (Canadian Car Price) website:

"dealers of Chevrolet in CAN we are trying to delivering possible best and Cheap Price/offers or deals of Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2022 in Canada and Full Specs, but we are cant grantee the information are 100% correct(human error is possible), All prices mentioned are in Ca$ and USD and valid all over the Canada including Toronto, Ontario, Montreal, Quebec, Vancouver, British Columbia Slight deviations are expected.

For Suggestions, Feedback or fond any error in rates or specs Please email..."

Ya but you have real winters! Our place in Vic was $615,000 eleven years ago. Just got our 2021 property assessment, $1,200,000. Makes no sense. Except for Toronto area all the good property deals are out East! Could sell and buy 10 Raptors though?

The city/ municipality adjusts tax tax rate / $1000 to reflect increased assessments otherwise wed all be broke. When property values go up the tax rate/ $1000 goes down. Some owners will have a larger tax increase if their assessment increases by a larger% than others.
