Might have been trashed to begin with? Gotta admire the creativity and what appears to be the execution. (Unless its photoshopped?)
That would be one chopping ride.

Bet with not too much excess power she'd make a nice Wheelstander. That would be a riot!

Looks like an altered wheelbase car of the era as well.

I'd put a big block in it !

No mystery here that I'd rather have it as a 4-door hardtop.  A good car was probably ruined to make this.

That said, think about how many were just used, abused, and crushed.  At least it's still around.  I wouldn't want it, but I see potential as a drag strip exhibition car.  Slam a potent big block into it with the obligatory blower sticking through the hood.  Lay down a wild paint job and some wheelie bars and do quarter mile wheelstands...

Or, take advantage of its short wheelbase and make a slalom car out of it.  Put in the lightest V8 you can to keep the front end weight bias down, put some weights behind the rear axle to balance it out a little (have to break out the wheel scales to dial in the weight bias), slam it to the ground, stiffen the suspension, and put a big wheel/sticky low profile tire combo on it.  A five or six speed manual would be requisite.

A shorty car is not my ideal, but may as well make lemonade out of the lemons... smile

I added an El Camino crew cab to make the average about normal.
