HELP! Is there anyone near Ottawa who can help my son with some items that need moving?

My son is to leave Ottawa on Thursday to move back to PEI. He arranged the same fellow I used to ship my truck doors from Sask to PEI to move the larger items that won't fit in his car (9 tote boxes, a 6 foot planter and a dining room table/chairs. The fellow was to come tomorrow but is now not answering his calls/texts etc. He's starting to panic (and I'm a bit worried too) . If this doesn't happen is there anyone who could possibly store these items until we can arrange another method of shipping? Or, if you're retired and have a truck or van and would like to see PEI we'd pay you to move his items. The quote he had from this guy was $1000. Ironically the same thing happened when he was moving from PEI to Ontario (different movers) and he ended up having to get a Uhaul and I ended up having to arrange shipping of his car (which took forever to get to Ontario). We dont' want to go through that again!

Thanks!!!

Todd

No fun being left in a lurch.

I had the same thing happen to me once in Toronto ... it also happened in the dead of Winter (the worse season to move, as if there is any good season). I hate moving.furious

Hope all turns out okay!

He finally got a reply from the shipper. His truck failed inspection here in PEI (frame issues) and the trailer also has structural issues. So.. it seems he's in the lurch. One possible solution is to rent a storage unit and have the fellow pick up his items when the truck and trailer are repaired. This would likely be easier than renting a U-haul and having the car shipped.
