Every time I watch it I marvel at how brave this lady was to do that. I honestly don't know if I'd have the guts to. She certainly took her vows seriously when she became a trooper.

Wow, that was pretty crazy. Certainly speaks to the confidence in the safety systems in these vehicles as well.

The driver was reported to be 20 times over the limit whatever the limit was in that state.

 

Good motivation to stop drinking and get help.

A few days in jail wont be enough of a deterent.

when the judge asked her if she is prepared to come to court and she laffed and said she had no car.....a very brave cop for sure

I saw the officers interview on the local news. She said all she was thinking about is how many people the driver could possibly hurt if she didnt put her own life on the line and stop the driver. Selfless is the word that comes to my mind.

Yes, I saw where they said she was the last defense. If she didn't do that the car was going to drive into a crowd of pedestrians on some sort of walk/march/marathon or something?

Yes. It was the annual 10-k race across the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, which is a 4 mile cable suspended bridge, and is the longest cable supported concrete bridge in the world. She said she was the last line of defense, as the driver eluded the other officers, before her.
