This is something most Canso fans will say they've never seen in real life. It is an original console that is correct only for a 65 Canso SD 4 speed. GM made 274 Canso SD's in 65 with a V8. It's safe to say that likely less than 10% of those cars had a 4 speed. (I've followed 65 SD's since I got my first one in 1974 and I've never seen a factory 4 speed).
A relative of mine bought this console from a CP site member about 12 years ago. The plan was to convert his 65 SD (Powerglide car originally) to a factory 4 speed setup but his situation has changed and that won't be happening, so he would like to sell the console. I've seen only one other console like this in 45+ years of looking at Canso's and I bought that console when I converted my SD to a 4 speed.
Please don't tell me the price is ridiculous, he is not looking to profit on this console and I've actually seen 65 Nova SS 4 speed consoles (same basic console but the top brushed aluminum plate is different) sell for quite a bit more than this asking price.
The console overall is a good driver condition console. Typically these consoles have broken plastic pieces or at least cracks in the area around the shifter plate. This console does not. It has pitting on the top like all of them do!
$650 + shipping. It will be very well packed and I would certainly recommend insuring it. Pretty much any other parts needed to do an original 4 speed conversion are available used or reproduction but this is an impossible to find part.
I would be willing to bet they didn't make more than 15, maybe 20 Canso SD cars max with a 4 speed in 65. Of all the 65 Canso SD's I've seen since 1974, I've never even seen a factory 327 car, never mind one with a 4 speed.
A guy on here a few years ago was converting a 65 Canso hardtop to a drag car/pro street style. He figured it was a factory 4 speed car but I can't recall if it was an SD or a bench seat Canso. I can't recall his name or where he was and I don't think he's posted for a few years now.

That seems like less than the going rate in USD for 4spd 66 Impala consoles, and while you don't come across those every day, they're not hard to find... Seems like a deal to me!
that thing is like 1 of 30 its a museum piece if you had the car to go with it wonder where that is ive never seen a 65sd 4 gear either ive only ever seen 5 invader 2 dr post priced way fairs Carl states it differs from a nova console wow

This console is on its way to a new home, sorry John. The original purchaser who spoke for it bought it. It took longer than I'd hoped because of some unfortunate delays caused by me.
