Terry
Welcome to the site.
Lots of helpful people on here to guide you as you go.

American production versus Canadian is a challenge but we will be up to it.

Hi Al

Thanks for reply, I am not great on computer, how can I email you a picture of my car? Is this message only viewable by you?

If it is, I will send you my Email address and toll free phone number

Where are you located?

I have a note saying serial number was  5-2011-814722, dont know if it is correct, I would like to find out if I had an American Pontiac, or a Canadian

Thanks

Terry

I believe the Chieftains were built in Canada up to 1951 or 52. Not sure when they stopped production? A friend of mine had a 1951, I believe a 6 cylinder,

Looks like a 55 Pontiac series 2011 would have been a Pathfinder Deluxe 2 door sedan in either 6 or 8 cylinder. However since the serial number begins with an 8 as in 814722 then it would have been a 265 cu in V8.
Made in Oshawa, ON. My book shows the Chieftains as being 2700 or 2700D series and being made in Pontiac, MI

Your car is a canadian pathfinder deluxe as referenced by norontcan. The sequence numbers 24722 is the production number of all 55 Pontiacs built in Qshawa. There were appx 31,000 built . I have the correct number at home but I am away until mid may.
