Chevy Impala Explodes After Oil Change

Somone on a 3800 FB group posted this old video after another member posted this photo of an explosion in his intake. Any idea what causes this? Fuel vapor somehow getting in there and ignited by a backfire?

Well, that's scary. I only ever heard of 3.8 fires because of leaky valve covers, never an explosion.

Same here. I witnessed a Grand Prix GT catch fire from leaky valve covers. Total loss.

Video of Impala in 2012 having same issue:

 This is exactly what happened to a friend this winter with his mid 90's Buick Regal . He was having trouble starting the car , let it sit a bit and tried again and it exploded . Had to throw snow on it to put out the fire.  Likely fumes that built up
