I wonder what the fuel surcharge is now for big trucks? Diesel is up double in the last year or so, a truck fillup is now around $13-1400. At about 6 miles per gallon and what the average trucker drives, the bill for fuel would be $120,000 a year. I seem to remember the last time fuel was high, it became over 40% of revenue for long haul trucks. At these prototypes would exceed that. The weaker truckers will start going bankrupt, freight rates will be much higher, everything will keep getting more expensive. I paid $1.35ish for diesel fuel on my trip to Ottawa in December, now paying $2.60. The speed of the rise is amazing.
