1963 Wildcat, factory 4 speed

Pretty rare car, kind of a weird looking console shifter setup?

What a cool car, wow. And talk about an unusual piece. You wouldn't find your twin at every cruise night.

I was just watching this earlier today. He explains a little about the shifter.

Thanks, that is a very tight shifting T10. T10s were gone for the Muncie by 64, this video is of a 64 but in a Buick I guess it could still be a T10.

Thanks for the video, I wondered how that shifter worked in the small opening in the console.

/\/\ My understanding is that divisions got equipment depending on two factors:
1) if another division had exclusivity
2) availability based on using up parts

I am pretty sure that the T-10 was used in every division except for Chevrolet in 1963 (first year of Muncie four speed);
I believe that the Muncie four speed was quickly made to be "the" four speed shortly after 1963, but I do not have access to when each division used the Muncie in their models.
I am frankly surprised that this car is suggested(?) to have a T-10, I too would have thought that the Muncie would have been used - but since the Wildcat was a larger car, maybe the longer tailhousing used for full sized cars wasn't yet allotted to the Buick division??
