I dont really understand how this website works so hoping I am posting in a good place.
I am back to the group...I was last here 12 years ago.
That is how long I have been searching for my Dads 1968 Beaumont.
You lovely people helped me track down the owner back then. I have emailed them every year for 12 years asking if they are ready to sell or let me come visit it.
I am about to remortgage my house so emailed again this week, and was informed it was sold to a broker April 2021!
All these years and its gone again!
I contacted the broker, and its not "her". What was sold in April 2021 was a '66 Burgundy Black Top.
Mine is a cherry red, rare, '68, white top, white interior. Back 12 years ago you guys told me she was a "rare bird" - even by Beaumont standards. Only a handful like her made.
Back story, Dad bought her from the original owner in the early 80's. He went thru a divorce in the mid-late 90's and sold her for a song so the ex wouldn't get it.
He sold her in Campbell River BC. He regretted that decision the rest of his life. He passed when I was 20 at the age of 50 and always wanted to find her again but the internet isn't what it is now.
I was brought home from hospital in that car. I now at 33 have two sons of my own, one who is named after my Dad. It is my lifes dream to be reunited with this car and have it back in my family. Especially now to pass on to my boys.
You all tracked it down to a very private owner. Out of respect for their privacy, I will just say that his and his wives initials are "D & K H" and they live(d) here in Victoria, BC where I live. I am wondering if something happened to him cause he knew how bad I wanted to buy this car off him. But that part isn't my business.
I am hoping that somewhere in here, somebody can help me track it down again. And perhaps this current owner will be more willing to take pitty on my sappy story and sell her back.
Attached are some grainy images. Sorry for the quality. The originals are in storage (including the one of little me in a car seat outside it ready to leave hospital!).
Hoping once again this lovely community might be able to help me get reunited with a little piece of my dad who I lost too soon. Can still remember the smell of the car, inside and exhaust. And every hot rod show down here in Victoria BC I go to, Im always watching for her.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide. Or if I should post this in a different place, let me know!
