I just read this story again and was wondering how you made out. Were you able to complete your trip? When I read they couldn't get it on the hoist and said it was because the exhaust was too low , I thought of the coil springs. Spring sag, which happens over time, is perhaps the most common cause of not enough clearance to put a car on a hoist.
