1969 2+2 427 4 Speed

So the purpose this is not to jump up and down and say what I have.

I have been looking for a 1969 coupe to build and my dream car, The 1969, 2+2 Blue/Black,396 auto, still sits in a barn disassembled since the 80s.

One chance to buy it when I was 18 years old but could not come up with $1,400

I might as well move on and this was the opportunity.

What sealed the deal is that Howard was not just selling the car but almost everything that the car needs.

Howard has worked hard over the years to collect as much as he could to make this build a success.

Howard put a cleaner front end on with the cleanest hood I have seen in 30 years.

The motor in it was a 396 and is out now making someone else happy

Howard has supplied me with a really clean set of 14 inch wheels incase I want to stick with original.

This decklid is spotless !

An emblem from the original dealer will be proudly displayed when the car is done.

After we made the deal on the car, I started to look for a shipper.

Found one advertising that he had room for one car for late July.

Howard started to pack the car.

On the day of shipping, the shipper backed out.

He said he would get back to me but never did.

After a week, we gave up and I went with Prairie Auto.

They were quick to pick up the car but got delayed due to a break down.

Finally the car got to Ontario on the last day of my two week vacation.

My good neighbour lent me his car trailer to get the car from the GTA.

The rest of the parts will be shipped at a later date.

I will probably send that load to a storage place as the shell is all I need for now.

And the fun begins !

My body guy came over and we started to work on a plan.

He is swamped but "Get the car ready in case someone backs out !"

So the disassembly begins.

Back bumper really put up a fight.

011a.jpg

Most of the interior is out so the biggest task, the dash will be the last thing I take out.

Sun tach will probably not go back as well as the aftermarket gauges.

004a.jpg

Steering wheel is already heading for a 77 Olds 88.

The stereo too, if it works.

The upper window channel is toast.

Howard is sourcing one for me.

1969 Pontiac | Classic Cars | City of Toronto | Kijiji

Could be Ray's back yard wink

I did reply to the ad.

I think it's just parts.

The seller has not responded to me.

The phone number belongs to an automotive service centre.

So bad news on the Personalized Plate,

My plate was rejected

4SP 427 looks too much like ASP 427 hmm

The will eventually send my money back.

001a.jpg

Went back on the site and looked at other ideas but decided to use the $300 elsewhere.

The body man is booked solid but runs into last minute cancelations all the time.

He also runs into projects that get put on hold for lots of reasons.

I can run this over at anytime on very short notice to fill these gaps.

"Shovel Ready" is a term used for a building project that is ready to go.

All the planning is done at this point.
