I know a guy who collects them. They're different every year, sometimes clear, sometimes orange/amber, sometimes with a light behind.

I'm pretty sure they're available reproduction. Do you have a plastic one now in bad condition? Or is yours all chrome?

Greetings : No, my old '66 Poncho just had the triangular badge on the front of the hood.

I have always had a fascination with Pontiac hood ornaments, ever since I could see over the steering wheel !

Other manufacturers came on board later with fancy ornaments to adorn their products, but IMHO, nobody ever nailed it as well as Pontiac did !

My Dad had a '56 Pontiac, and I always loved the Indian Head ornament.

Mine now is a '66, but I would still like to put an Indian Head ornament on it somehow.

Many might say that it would just look goofy, but I only do things to impress myself. I don't really care what others think.

By the way......thanks for the tip on the RIT All Purpose dye. I think that I am going to get some and give it a try before embarking on other avenues.

Your comments are always greatly appreciated !
