Very nice, my cousin is looking for one of those intakes for a 413 for his 60 Plymouth project. They are expensive and
rare.

Looked like this on 2020, was a

compleye rust bucket to start. Hes near Fredericton, had some other projects jump in front. 413 with push button was the plan, last I heard.

I was in England in 2016 and visited the Beaulieu car museum auto jumble (flea market). There was a Chrysler Town and Country minivan there powered by a diesel with a manual transmission, and built in Windsor Ontario! It looked to be around a 2010 model. It was one of the vendors vehicles and he bought it new. I never knew that Chrysler built diesel minivans, it also must be quite rare. They probably would have sold well if offered here.

Almost everything in Europe is manual transmission and diesel. Made in Canada in 2010, who owned Dodge then, may have been a Benz diesel like a sprinter or the ML250.

Love it. I almost bought a 60 Plymouth wagon years ago but it was too rotted underneath

Somewhere in the forgotten archives of my family history (one of my sisters has the photo in a shoe box), I recall seeing a B&W photo of the white one my parents owned in the early 60s. I was too young to remember it first-hand and no one left to ask for details.

Cool car, I know a guy in Cranbrook BC that has a 62 Chrysler 300 convertible, so somewhat similar.

Was at a private yard recently and the guy had this, a 61 Chrysler (canted headlights & big fins), I presume a Windsor.   Quite rough though, and I didn't check to see if it was automatic or standard.  But I did check and the dash pod was still there.

My folks had a 61 Chrysler 4 door back in the early 60's.

Here's a fun fact: In 1960 a small fleet (some say 6 others say 11) Chrysler 300D's were built with a Pont-à-Mousson 4 speed transmission to give them a performance edge at the Daytona "Flying Mile" event. The fastest of the bunch hit 144mph.

One of these special cars sold in 2013 for over $236000 USD.

there was  another reason Chrysler corp offered a full size  car with a 3 speed stick in 1962

1962 was a poor sales year in order to get some more conquest sales they came up with the idea of offering a  stripper 4 door big car for under a price point of $3,000

a  survivor of one of these cars sold at barret jackson

I imagine another reason is that the full size versions of Plymouth and Dodge were gone for '62.  Chrysler took a gamble (and lost) that the public was no longer going to want big cars in the lower price brackets, and their mistake found them losing customers to Ford and GM.  The resultant scramble to win back some of their big car buyers had them introducing the Dodge 880 mid-year, which was essentially a Chrysler Newport body with a '61 Dodge front clip stuck on it.  Plymouth didn't get a full size until the redesigned '65s came out.  I imagine the stripped-down Newports were part of this reactionary situation.

They also offered a police version of the Chrysler, interestingly enough.

Just in case the rag top didn't interest you here's a hardtop........smile.

Chryslers Letter Cars blended luxury with performance in a combination that had few rivals at the time. This 1962 Chrysler 300H Two-Door Hardtop is one of only 435 such models produced...

Wow - thanx for shaking up the memory banks Don. I remember that article like it was yesterday and

may even have downstairs in the vast literature collection. Very respectable times for 1962 and what a

great looking car on the strip......biggrin
