My wife is fastidious about keeping our patio clear of fallen leaves and spend many an hour sweeping the leaves to have a nice place to have a break.
We have 3 trees that continously loose their leaves all season. Not just in the fall.
Today we rolled up the carpet and pushed all of the patio accessorys into the corner in preperation to cover everything with a tarp.
Then came the job of raking all of the leaves that had fallen on the grass of our patio area. 5 large bags later the back breaking job was done by my wife and I got to hold the bags while she filled them. My stability is not the best as I have found myself in the recliner prone most of the time. I had mentioned getting a leaf blower many times but that was always shot down quickly. Today at the end of it I overheard maybe we should get a leaf blower.
Ahaw!!
Took one of my 18.0 Volt Rigid batteries for my impact drill to Home Depot to see if by chance my battery dated 2001 was compatible. Plugged it into the store display leaf blower and it powered it up. Success. I had 2 batteries that I could use.
On sale at $89.00
Tomorrow will be the test as I am sure the now bare concrete will be a good test bed for the blower. Blower weighs in at 3.2 lbs and add and extra 1.5 for the battery.
Old battery charged up in 20 minutes

Although a little noisy, they really work at moving leaves easily across many different surfaces. Great on the driveway, on concrete steps, in the garden around plants, through gravel edging... You will wonder why you didn't get one sooner. I don't have cordless, but they have come a long way in the last few years.

They are handy for the patio etc. I also use it to blow the leaves and dust out of the garage that get blown in. Mine is a 20v Dewalt. I got it as I have 4 batteries for my drill/driver.

I woke up to find my wife behind the broom sweeping the patio leaves.
I unpacked the blower and put the old battery in and handed it to her and she immediately packed in the broom.
After a few minutes of blowing I got a huge huge hug even though her back was sore from yesterday's yard work
