Mybiscayne2.jpgImage previewGetAttachmentThumbnail?id=AQMkADAwATE2ZTImage preview

Had to dig thru my "restoration" pics to find these. Just realized I don't have very many pics on my pc, they are all on my phone

Hopefully Todd won't "blacklist" me for the Chevy pics here....LOL

THAT makes me say "needs a big block and a 4 speed"! That one is just begging for it. Plain jane with A/C, how cool is that?

Dad had a '66 Biscayne from December '65 to January '70. Sandalwood Tan with Fawn interior, it had the new 250 six. At least it had 3 pedals & HD suspension.
I found an old picture of my sister & I taken back in '68, standing beside the '66:

I don't know where all the old family photos are, maybe with my brother.

It seems to me the stats I've seen talked around 200 pounds with the same equipment on both cars. I can't imagine it being much more than that. A little bit of exterior trim, seats, floor covering in some cases.

So what would that calculate to, maybe 1/10th of a second quarter mile difference? But in drag racing, every pound counts.

According to the Encyclopedia of American Cars the 2 door Biscayne V8 weighed 3445 and the Impala V8 3555......smile

My Passat weighs 3497, most people would think that big 66 would weigh 1000 lbs more than the Passat. I am also a lover of that 2 door post 66.

Correction,... the glass is tinted green, you could get a grey shade that year and clear too. Just the angle of the picture makes the glass look blue.  It's a 427...

You are saying in 1966 there was clear, gray tint or green tint? I've never heard of such a thing.

Is there an option code for different than the normal green tint? There's nothing like that listed in the parts books if you look up individual window replacement glass.

Carl...I'll have to check. The green was quite common, especially Stateside. The first question Autocity asked...

Now I get it, that makes sense. Yes Auto City offers it. GM never did though, it's an Auto City thing.
