Can you tell me what part # is on your Patriot headers? Thanks

I bought mine locally but to give you a better look I found them on the Summit website.
Mine are the first link in natural steel. Second link is ceramic coated.

As I recall, the headers went in with the motor so I cant speak to ease (or not) of installation. The only problem I had was a manufacture defect - a hole in one of the header pipes near the flange at the head. Funny thing was, I was setting the timing and the click from the leak coincided with the flash of the timing light so I knew the leak was in the #1 tube. I dropped the header off the head and luckily noticed light through the pinhole in the tube. Got my resident welder son to make the leak disappear, bolted it back up and havent had a problem since.

Hedman ceramic coated shorty headers on my small block, last a long time ,look good, but getting to spark plugs on the 1,3,5,7 side is very tricky.

I have Hedman 66104 long tube ceramic coated and I can change all 8 plugs in 15 minutes.

Thanks for the response. I went with the ceramic coated patriots. My crate has aluminum heads as does your zz4. Did you use a specific header gasket or the ones that came with the headers?  Is your car a standard or auto?

Standard or auto tranny? Did you install the headers after the engine was in the car or on the engine at drop in? What gaskets did you use?

Mine is an automatic (Turbo 350). You are testing my memory on the gaskets. I think I used the ones that came with then.

The motor went in at the time they were installed. That may have complicated the install a bit rather than helped.

Changing plugs with headers in there is always a challenge but patience is a virtue!

Did you have to go to shorty plugs due to your plug wire terminals being to close to your headers? Are you running shorty plugs?  Did you heat wrap your headers?

 No, No and No.

Only a couple of plugs take a bit of patience.

Nothing special about the plugs.

No heat wrap on the headers, just black ceramic header paint.

One of my plug terminals are touching the header. It's all I can do to put the plug terminal on.  I may have to go to shorty plugs

What number cylinder is giving you clearance issues?

Im sorry you are having trouble with the Patriots after I posted using them with no problems. My ZZ4 has the aluminum angle plug heads and in the description of the headers it states the angle plugs are not a problem for fit.

I will have a closer look at mine in your problem location and post a picture.

I am going to install shorty plugs. That should help a bit. I may have to adapt a wrench to Remove a couple of my plugs.
