1966 Beaumont Bronze interior

Hi everyone, starting a restoration back to stock as possible. I have a 383 Trim code (SD car) which I have been told is Bronze (Thanks 4SPEED427). Does anyone have pictures, codes or supplier for this colour? Thanks so much!

The 66 SD used door panels from the Lemans / GTO, as well as the dash. The rest of the interior is Chevelle. Chevelle Malibu SS seats, console, carpet, steering wheel. If you lacked a tach, the clock in the dash pod meant a Beaumont filler plate in the console. Here's a '67 interior with the console clock blank plate

I found this pic in a quick search: LINK:  Check out the 2-spoke N34 Sport steering wheel, and the horn button. Not sure if it is legit or fabbed; the dash insert certainly is. Even the seats and upholstery aren't stock, but you get the idea of what Bronze looks like. It's sort of a muted red over medium copper or more likely orange, if I had to describe it.

And let's not forget to thank oldcarbrochures for this link: 1966 Sport Deluxe brochure pic

The N34 sport wheel won't be an original for a 66 Beaumont. Maybe Chevelle but not for Beaumont, so the horn button will be fabbed as well, yes.

While the Lemans/GTO panels will fit, I thought they had a strip of carpet along the bottom? If so, thats different from the Beaumont.

You know what? My bad. The Beaumont Custom & SD used Pontiac Tempest Custom based door panels, not Lemans - GTO (as I incorrectly stated) but with an additional bright horizontal trim strip added mid-panel. There may be subtle differences  though. An actual physical side by side comparison would answer much. Until then...

You be the judge: 66 Tempest Custom ;  66 Beaumont Custom including SD

1964-66 Beaumonts are special interior wise, from the unique '64 style to the mish-mash 65-66 style. 67-on used straight Chevelle interiors with Tempest / Lemans dashes. It makes sense economically.

One other caveat on the picture showing the wood wheel... as far as I know, Beaumonts never had the wood around the gauges. GTO's had it, and I've seen it added to Beaumonts, but I've never seen it on an original dash.
I agree, the Tempest door panels look correct from the brochure pictures. Did they ever produce an Aztec Bronze Tempest? For some reason I seem to recall the Aztec Bronze was unique to Canada but I don't know for sure.

Here's a 1966 GM Canada bronze floor mat from a set that I bought from a member. Check out the GM Canada logo! Used through '66 before switching to the more familiar square GM logo.

I'd always thought my GM mats were original to my 66. Do you mean they are wrong for 66 Cam?

From my observation GM Canada changed the logo on the mats for '67 to the square GM logo. In the U.S. there were Chevy "bowtie" logo mats and each division had their own logo and sometimes even a unique pattern on the mats for factory supplied versions. For dealer accessory mats they said GM, however in Canada they said GM  regardless of division. In Canada they were made by Dominion, I wonder if it could have been Dominion in Scarborough at St. Clair & Warden where they big glass plant was until a few years ago? It is all residential now.

Mats were usually dealer supplied back then in Canada, whereas in the U.S. they were factory or dealer.

I would say that if your mats fit your car and match colour-wise, I don't like to use the term "wrong" for your car. The logo is splitting hairs and it changed around 66/67, the dealer supplied them so I would run them and not worry....

To me it doesn't really matter if they are authentic or not, they look era correct to my untrained eye. It's just that they do match the white mats my white interior 66 Grande Parisienne had that I bought in 1981. I figured likely that was a 66 mat but always open to learn!

Ive pulled a few square logo ones out of 1965 chevrolets in junkyards over the years,  also my chevelle ones came out of a 66 chevelle a long time ago, also the square logo.

I lived in the area for 30 years. I don't remember a glass plant there... GM van plant,  Fridgedaire,  Sunbeam autos, horse stable, Old age home.  The "Dominion" you are talking about I think had plants in Windsor and Hamilton, the made seat belts for Gm amongst other products...maybe floor mats. But NOT in Scarborough
