Street & Strip Winnipeg

Just going through my car file. in 1977 the owner bought a set of Dougs #12 headers from a place called Street & Strip in Winnipeg. Thought it might bring up8E578AB1-1921-4F02-8541-AAB70A8A9B86.jpeg memories for some of the Winnipeg fellas. Here is the receipt

That was my go-to for performance parts. Conveniently close to home. Found a for sale add in there and bought my first performance engine with help from them. A 69 LT1 in the crate. That motor made my 72 Nova a ton of fun to drive!

Very cool! I am from Regina and never heard of the place.
My 66 came from Winnipeg to Saskatoon in 1980. I bought it around 2010

I was hoping the name/receipt might spark a memory or two

And funny you mention 72 Nova. That was my first car. 250 and a glide. Had a 327 and the colour changed from orange to blue before my 16th birthday. Haha

Our favourite speed shop in Regina is Queen City Performance. Owned and operated by Abe Loewen from 1973 to 2018. Under new ownership since then but they continue to be a fantastic locally owned and operated business. Nice to see this still happening in todays business culture.

I'm not sure I know it either and I started buying stuff from Softy's on Notre Dame around 1974. Also Drag Mart and Woody's.

It must never have gained the same status that Drag City and Softy's attained. I think they were the 2 big players back in the day.

Anyone recall a Red on Red 66 Chevy II on the Winnipeg streets in the 70s? My car left there in 1980. Gentleman's first name was Maurice that was on the Bill of Sale.
