Original Glass or Soft Ray ? That is the question I have for you today !

I am about a year off from this decision but,

Howmac has blessed me with some cool options for the 2+2 build.

One, is a full set of Fall 1968 dated, Soft Ray glass including the back glass.

I have to admit, I had never seen Soft Ray in person before.

Very pretty in a subtle way.

The original rear 1/4 window glass is all I have with the true 1968 date stamp.

All other clear glass is stamped for months in 1969.

Clearly, the car is not going to be correct ever again because the original motor and M-20 are long gone.

So what do you think ?

I think the green tint glass would be the way to go. The green tint would look good with the green body colour and the added bonuses of a slightly cooler interior temperature and less sun damage to the restored upholstery and dashboard.

this is just a bolt in item so if you go green it can always be changed back to clear. even the dated green glass i would have a good look at. New glass will have no haze or other imperfections

Green all the way.

But with that said, it's your car. What do you like?

I have bought a few parts cars over the years and the ones with shaded windows always had better interiors. Not that yours is going to be a pars car but the interior will thank you over the years.

Love green glass - It was already in my wifes wagon. Very apparent with the original white car. We painted the car an aqua colour and you don't notice the tin now. If you car will be green I wouldn't worry too much about the look and go for the UV benefits
