67 SD Beaumont

Well, finally bit the bullet and ordered some metal for the car. Its only been sitting for 30 years(since Ive owned it) so its about time. Full floor and trunk will be here in a month. Going to keep gathering everything and start on it in the spring

Way back....I once had a body guy tell me my 57 was un fixable. She sat outside, bare steel and full of rust for 10 years! Nothing is un-fixable if you have the determination to fix it! I think that there is no greater feeling than bringing something back to life. Start a thread...as we all like to tag along on the journey....

Super cool. Glad to see you are saving it. Lots of guys would take on look and say "too much work".

I probably would have said too much work too but we have boat loads of parts for 67 Chevelles/Beaumonts which will make it way easier.

I would say the 67s are the most liked of all the years too. She will be a beauty for sure. How is your starting point, the frame? Will you powder coat or spray the frame?

Frame was rotted under the trunk, and years ago a buddy of mine needed the drivers side frame horn for his 66 so its done. In the pics the front clip is askew, thats because of the frame horn cut off. We have another frame that Ill probably have powder coated. I had the frame on my 72 Nova powder coated and its great

Red Chevelle was sold not long after you were by Randy. I shouldve kept it for the frame alone but hindsight is 20/20.

Looks like a fun project but definitely worth doing. If you are building a driver I would recommend the 5 spd, I put an M21 in mine and pulled it after one summer for a TKX.

Im leaning more in that direction. My 66 Chevy II has an M21 and screams on the highway at 110 kmh with 3:73 gears. If I didnt have to modify the tunnel it would have already been installed in it.

It is great that you are going to save this car. With only 451 built and 55 years to disappear due to rust, accident, theft, it is always a great thing to see one get another shot.

An L35 with a TH400 & 2.73s would make a great cruiser on the highway. I love manual transmissions and can understand the desire to switch, but the TH400 is pretty satisfactory.

Keep us posted.

Im going back to the original Emerald Turquoise with black interior and black vinyl roof. Going to try and get it as close to original as I possibly can, within reason of course. Im not going to hunt down NOS parts or anything like that, but it will definitely look the part.

That! With red-lines of your choosing would really pop against your colour combo.
