I am swapping out the underhood wiring harnesses in my 66 SD, 4 spd manual, hei distributor. My underdash harness is in great shape. I bought the American Auto Wire harnesses for a 66 chevelle and started the process. The very limited instruction sheet tells me at one point to, remove the pink wire from the bulk head connector and insert the pink wire which came in the package into this same location, then remove the pink wire in the back of my ignition switch and plug the new pink wire into the same location. Problem......there are 2 pink wires in the back of my ignition switch....so.....which pink wire comes out? Question.....are there 2 pink wires in the back of a 66 chevelle ignition switch? Did I buy the wrong wiring harness? Should I have bought the 66 gto wiring harness? I am getting differing opinions on this question. Has anyone replaced their UNDERHOOD wiring harnesses on their 66 beaumont with 66 chevelle American Auto Wire harnesses? Again manual transmission, hei wiring harness sw
beaumont uses gto ignition switch i would assume since you bought a chevelle harness the instructions would be for a chevelle ignition switch which is different. the beaumont(gto) ignition switch is 6 prong and chevelle is only 5 prong you should get a beaumont manual from carl i believe it will show you all the factory wiring
