Today roads were dry so why not. Car had sat untouched for about 3 weeks. -8 today, but sunny. One pump, cranking for a while, needed one more squirt, then away she went. Car warmed up nice. The new insulation on the roof, firewall and floor really makes it comfy. B Cool brand. Dont skip it if you have everything stripped out. It's 100% worth it.
Found a ice covered parking lot and did some doughnuts. What a hoot, she whipped around nice! No self discipline, an indication of a weak man some might say.... would have been even better if it'd been recorded.
Saw absolutely no classics out today. I was the only one.
No apologies needed Mark, never a bad thing seeing pics of that car, especially this time of year.
But then again I am biased and also contain no self discipline....
This morning on my way through the garage heading out for my first walk I noticed how dusty your car's slightly younger sister was! I worked a lot in my garage in January and stupidly never put the cover on. Debated taking it out to the car wash on this beautiful (but -14*) day and wasn't quite sure what to do.
Your post gave me the little kick I needed to take it out to the car wash. Nice bare dry highway, our sidestreet is hard packed snow/ice. The crew of about 7-8 guys burying fibre optic cable a few blocks down the street all just stopped and stared. I suspect they think the old gray haired guy has lost it, driving this old car in the winter! I will say, it sure heats well, wow...
While I was waiting for my turn in the car wash with it idling I noticed there's sure nothing wrong with my alternator, plenty of voltage! It calmed down once the battery was charged up.
Man that looks nice Carl! that tire/wheel combo change just does it. Oh, Btw, I could hear the rumble all the way down here as you passed by the flabbergasted workers.
And you know she was due a run when you see 15.3. Gratuitous radio delete shot snuck in there as well I see. Nice.

I would love to have seen the faces of the neighbours when they looked out their window and saw a 58 year old car doing donuts in the parking lot next to their house!
I imagine that you get more smiles per mile with that car than most anybody does with their classic. They were built to drive and that's just what you do with yours!
What's the tag? Looks GM ish. Cruise control switch?
I totally forgot to elaborate on this last night.
When we (Fake68) and I went to look at this car for sale I had the driver's door open and was down on my knees looking under the dash. I noticed this tag and the red button. The seller watched as I pulled the button down and the hazard flashers came on. He said to me "What's that"? (He was second owner, bought the car in 2004 and this was 2016. His great uncle was first owner.) I said "Oh, you didn't know about this?" "Nope''.
He got the car from the great uncle's estate sale, had the car 12 years and about 5,000 miles, never knew it had V74 option 4 way flashers!
I've never seen another tag like this. At first I figured the original owner, who was a GM tech at Mann Motor Products where the car was ordered, had added a GM accessory flasher kit but when I found the build tag in the back seat it had V74 on it. Obviously it's an assembly line tag.
Mark; Most people in Burlington are clueless to what this is. But some do look, point and smile, usually old timers reminiscing I figure. They all probably had, or were familiar with the 65 Canadian Pontiac, they were that common.
So was the button designed to be owner installed in the dash lower Carl? The factory just leaves it tucked up in the harness?

No, I think it was mounted to this exact spot on the dash on the assembly line judging by the cool curvy bracket that mounts it. And I'm betting the tag is on there just because people would have no idea that the hazard flashers even existed without it.
