If anyone is looking for transmission bolts to fit big or small block, I can help you out. The GM part number is 839756. GM price is $3.03 each so in Manitoba with taxes it will cost $20.34 for a set of 6. I had to buy a box of 25 to get the ones I needed. I will sell a set of 6 for $15 if anyone needs some. These are a special bolt. Yes, you can find hardware store bolts that will fit in but there are a stronger bolt with a special shallow head on them.
i had the GM bolts on the flywheel and builder said star washers a must. when I went to the suplier they said ARP claims no washer so should I put a washer on three of them ? that way I would be 50% right
Sounds like you need a ride in the faceplated 5spd Nova !
LOL, did that one hit where it hurt???!!!
As a matter of fact yes, I do need a ride in it. Last time I had a ride in it there was still a Crusher in it and we were doing about 90 mph in a 50 kmh zone on Clarence!

Are these same bolts used on a 292 six. When I replaced a clutch and flywheel on an old plow truck I had to buy a box and only used six. I did not keep the box just put the bolts in a bin with other ring gear bolts.
I would never put anything under these bolts, just like 'Fake68' - loctite, and torqued to spec.
@ 4speed, I'm guessing your spares are all sold?

As far as the washers go, on the 60's big and small blocks in our Pontiacs they always had the star washers under the bolts when they came off the assembly line. I've never had one that came loose so I just stick with what works. Whatever works for anyone is fine, I'm just bit of a purist.
