RE: My New Radio Show

I forgive you. this time.   You missed some really good Smothers brothers stuff.  My wife says my voice bores the crap out of her as well.

Funny, tonight as I was listening I was thinking you have a great radio voice.

I suspect it's not the sound so much as the content heh heh.

Only reason I even listen to your show is I'm a Baxter fan.

OK, Baxter is behind the board again tonight unless he chooses to get distracted by a laser pointer.  Producers are simpleminded creatures...

Tonight we're taking Beaumont guru's suggestion and keeping it upbeat!  Make sure your pacemakers are recharged gents!

This should warm things up!

Another fun show again tonight Ken. The one thing I hate about it? You have me totally hooked. I can't do anything else on Monday nights now. Friends ask to go for coffee. "Sorry, I'm busy".  Friend needs help with an old car. "Sorry, I'm busy".  Today was different. I left this morning at 8:30 to work at the jail. "Carl, how long can you work today? Do we need to find a replacement guard".  "I can work until 6:00 or so, 6:30 at the latest because I have to be home by 7:00 for sure".

Addiction is an awful thing...

Ken,

You got to record your program so it can be streamed at other times.

Can you put it on a podcast outside of the radio station?

Would be nice to listen to your program when I have time.

I'm kind of learning my way as I go with this but my understanding is that since I play almost all copyrighted material (even if its old) I have to be covered by a broadcast license, which the station has. That means that if I do a podcast it has to be noncopyrighted material so I would have to just sing my own songs that I make up. Nobody would want that!

I have been recording the shows as I do them since about June for possible playback when I'm not around.  There may be an option to put them on some kind of demand playlist but I'll have to check with the station manager.  There was also some talk about replaying the show again during the week at a different time so that may help.  Apparently I'm quite popular with the over 90 demographic, so it might work to play it twice so they can actually hear it once. (heh heh)

Ken,

An on demand playlist would be perfect and allow listening whenever.

There are ways to obtain a license to play your music on a podcast however you may not want to go through the hassle.

Crap! It's Monday isn't it? I had planned to be in the garage tonight but I don't miss the show unless it's absolutely impossible to listen in.

If some old geezer hadn't sold me some old yellow car I'd be free but I need to work on that car tonight.  I guess maybe the Bose speaker will come into the garage and you'll have my somewhat divided attention Ken.

i feel pretty good in that even though I sold you a bum car at least I can try to entertain you while you're laying underneath it!   We're on tonight! The usual time with the usual weird mix!

Check Amazon for a wireless Bluetooth phone speaker

Lying under it? Not a chance. Standing under it. I'm too old to lie on the floor to install Muncies. Or to install anything for that matter!

I should have been clearer, that is what I have. The kids gave me a Bose Bluetooth speaker for Christmas a few years ago. I often take it in there with me but running tools etc often drowns out the speaker volume and I like to listen to the entire 2 hour show. I'll have to make a decision when it's showtime tonight.

Oh, then you need a set of those wireless noise cancelling headphones. They are great! They cut out most of the background noise. Also great when cutting grass and listening to tunes!

I have those that I use in the house but I don't wear them when I'm working in the garage. I don't want them getting damaged, greasy, dusty etc and I also like to be able to hear when I'm working. Plus I think they'd get in the way a lot of the time if I have my head under a dash, stuck in a wheel well etc.

I listened to the first hour or so in the house and then took the speaker into the garage. You serenaded me while I assembled the shifter, mounted it on the 4 speed and then bolted it into the car!

I thought it was one of your best shows ever. The music, the wit, it was all very well done.
