Hi everyone I have a '57 2 door sedan I've owned for 42 years. Bought it at 17 with a 283, 3 speed and drove it for a few years. Parked at my dads farm for many years. Now in the process of stuffing a 454 & TH400 into it. Lots of great cars, ideas and knowledge here, look forward to sharing it.

Welcome from Morris! Lots of us Manitobans on the site. We do a coffee break together from time to time, so keep an eye in the Lounge section here for a discussion of when that will happen.

Don't be scared to post pictures of your project as you go. Cool project, 57's look great.

Welcome from Regina SK. My 1st car at age 16 was a 57 Pontiac 4 door 261 cu in 3 on tree. Kept it as a summer car for about 10 years and sold it. Everything worked except the slide across speedometer. It kind of bounced across and you had to guess at the speed.

Years ago a kit was produced to put a big block in Fifty 567 Chevy's, and there was no need to bang the firewall back for distributor clearance. As your car is half Chevy, including the frame & I think the firewall, such a kit would be of great benefit to you.

Yes thats the plan. When I was 17 I had this master plan for candy apple red and pearl white but thank goodness I waited long enough that patina is in style lol

Welcome to the site! 1957s are among my favorites and yes, the 57s already had the clearance at the firewall for a big block, it was the 55/56s that needed massaging.

Many people do patina now, especially after checking out enviro-pricing on body, paint & chrome!
