GM power locks in 1964 models

I learned something new in an Arizona wrecking yard last week. Power locks (vacuum) in a 1964 Olds. I had always thought 1965 was first year for GM power locks in any vehicle. In Canada it was much later.

Yes, they look the same but a bit of trivia.

64-69 they look like this one. They have 3 vacuum hoses running to the back of them.

70 only, they look the same but the switch is electric.

71 and up the switches have 90 degree pointed corners, i.e. a nice crisp corner, not like these rounded ones. The 70 switches are coveted because if you want to put electric locks in something older than 70 and make it look original, you have to have the 70 switch.

1957 Cadillac Eldorado brougham had pdl. Guessing Cadillac had them after that. I sold a 52 Cadillac for a family friend, it had hydraulic power windows. Never know what youll find on the Real Cadillac?

Wow, I never knew about the Caddy that far back having power locks. I've seen a couple of the old Caddies in wrecking yards with the hydraulic power windows though. I wonder how they were at -35!
