Well the Canso has sold.....

Sold the 66 Canso SD today to a great new owner. Was never advertised ..just a private sale that both of us walked away happy with. Long story short.... I had a guy ask to purchase a few years back. Then he posted a wanted add on FB. Not soon after my son and I were cleaning the garage and I told him that I need to insure the 57 this year (as it hasn't been insured for a couple years) He looked at the plate ,then looked at me and said it's been 4 years dad! We'll my stomach sank.....too much stuff and stuff on the go and the 57 was getting neglected. So 1 had to go. Selling had nothing to do with retirement ..just a coincedence in timing. I told my daughter that I'd sold the Canso and she said " I don't know wether to say congrats or sorry for your loss" pretty well sums it up. Will be on the hunt for a poncho project come October.  o ya...I still own one (sons is still in my name...biggrin )

Think positive George, maybe we'll get a new member, the new owner. And maybe we'll get Jim into a B body!

That was such an awesome car, must have been hard to let go but as they say theres always another car out there. I hope the check started with at least a 4!

Sorry to hear of the Sale, but sounds as though two people are happy.

There is one up here Jim, just waiting for owner. Needs a Little TLC. LOL.

Well Jim, mixed emotions on this one for sure. Congrats on the sale and yes it's hard to drive them all and totally understand the fun is in the build. Sometime you just have to let them go. I'm not there yet, just moving to a bigger place so I can keep them all! LOL.
Can't wait to see what you come up with next. I second the vote on a B body.

You can't keep them all. I'm just looking around at all the stuff I have amassed. I understand the need to manage things, and yes, even dormant cars.

I'm sure you made somebody very happy with that '66 Acadian. Win-win. I'm still a little shocked that you sold it though.

Let's see that '57!

That's perfect as long as you're happy then that's all that matters!  Can't wait to see your next build, if I had your car building skills I would retire tomorrow and tinker away on other people's cars until CPP kicked in wink

Just remembered a thread. Lend your classic out. My Nephew had 2 days training on a stick in my 57..let him have it and fallowed behind. They are just cars.. beautiful cars but still cars. My 15 min of nervousness brought him a lifetime memory.
