1968 Pontiac Parisienne 2 + 2 90,000 km | Victoria (Not Mine)

1968 Pontiac Parisienne 2 + 2 - Victoria (autotrader.ca)

After 55 years, selling a family heirloom, our Mother's dream car of 1968. Original condition, original paint, no rust, no customization. Vehicle was purchased brand new by my parents from Empress Motors in Victoria. Driven only by my mother, garage kept all these years. No accidents. I inherited vehicle 5 years ago and have kept it in garage. 327 cu in engine with 4 barrel carb, hardtop, vinyl roof, black interior with bucket seats and stirrup 3 speed automatic shifter. Vehicle has been in Victoria its entire life...

I was thinking that too. Start a project 2+2 and you're up that amount in no time.

There is just something about a Black 2+2 interior that looks so appealing to me.

Maybe it's because it was my first car. A 69. Seemed so big and fullsize when you were a scrawny 180lb 16 year old.

Lovely car. I might have to look at this if it were here. Please keep all the good cars out west, thanks.

Muscular, Solid and a Confident 180 lbs. Is that better?

Maybe it was 160?

One of the nicest big Pontiac body styles, great colour combo, and all original.  Can't beat it.

Nice enough that you wouldn't want to touch too much of it, but not too nice to drive.  Perfect, and a reasonable price, especially for nowadays.

There you go!!!!   Make the purchase, and fly back this summer and drive it home.   Pick me up in Calgary as a co-pilot for the journey east.

Nice 2+2, it was for sale a year or two ago I believe, spoke with seller at the time, but he changed his mind on selling the Pontiac.

Cannot remember the conversation about the car, be nice if someone on the Island could lay Pontiac eyes on it though. I think price is more than fair in todays market. So long as it's dry no rust or mould.

I tried to find the post from last year on this car for the price then, but could not find it. I remember it was on here one or two years ago though.

This would be a nice one for someone. Decent price too for original turn key.

The true value, if as advertised, is it'll be in near perfect shape underneath and bodywise.

You can upgrade or improve it as you drive it with zero fuss. Or do nothing. When you see how some of the other questionable cars are priced, this one is likely a rare gem.

RE: 15 inch plain steel wheel code

Use the Search button then

Search for valve stem codes

Gives you details about width

This car also has the spoke hubcap option. They use the same generic medallions as the Cdn Pontiac ralley wheel center caps.

Although, the front wire wheel hubcaps have a taller center section to clear the outer bearings. Rear hubcaps aren't as tall.

I love it! It would be a 275-horse premium fuel 327 if it is a 4-barrel, but most seemed to come with the 327 2-barrel regular fuel base engine in '68. Probably a small output shaft TH400. No bubbles under the top, perfect for the patented baby oil treatment. Interior is the same as the Z03 Super Sport Impala that year, but instead of "SS" on the door panels it says "2+2". 1968 was THE year for green. You could get 5 different shades on Pontiacs that year. 14x6 wheels with 11" drums are adequate unless you do mountain passes towing an Airstream.

I wish I had room for it. That one is worth preserving. Keep it cleaned up & detailed it could be a knockout. With the wrong owner it could go downhill fast. I can remember many of those cars as winter beaters in the seventies. And that truly showroom condition Burnished Saddle one back in 1980 at my highschool was seen in 1985 with holes & rot. Shame.

Ray, do you feel like ditching an SUV for that gem? Then picking up the drive-train to that rusted Verdoro '68 Parisienne 427 and merging the 2? Finish with some 3-D printer 427 cu.in. badges.

If I ever found a set, I would use them to copy the brochure car exactly !

My Laurentian had a minty set on it when I bought it. I can't remember who I sold them to.

I've got some, but removed the medallions years ago.  I can drum up some photos in the coming weeks.

I'm curious. What's the "patented baby oil treatment" ?

Regards, Scott (LandShark ...)

Baby oil. On the roof. Rub it in & let it soak, wipe up excess. It keeps the vinyl from drying out, it displaces moisture. If done from new, the results are no cracks, no blisters, no rust bubbles underneath.
It's not really patented, a friend learned it from a little old lady with a MINT '67 Chevelle (that happened to have those wire wheel covers on it).
