I just recently discovered a very competitive shipper than simply blows away UPS , Purolator , and obviously Canada Post .
In the last 2 weeks , I shipped from Winnipeg , 2 rally rims to the Ottawa area for $ 42 , and today 4 rims ( 4 boxes , 84 lbs) from Winnipeg to Quebec City for only $66 !!!
In both instances they arrived at my house within 2 hours for pick up , and they will get delivered within 1 week . The company is called GLS. ( I used Secureship.com services to get this quote and the labelling )
Apparently GLS is a massive European company just getting into the Canadian market
Nice tip Howmac. Are they Canada wide? Do they pick up AND deliver, they don't "piece" it off at the delivery destination like Purolator (which is Can post) or UPS...
Not sure if they are Canada wide yet , but I suspect they will be soon . I use Secureship as a service , who in turn get you quotes from all shippers , and you can choose your own shipper at the secureship volume discounts . You pay Secureship once it is picked up or shipped .
Not sure if GLS has service everywhere .. For example i was shipping rims to Prince Albert a week ago , and GLS was not even an option so I suspect they do not have a truck on that route . But so far anything I was shipping east within Canada , GLS was the cheapest by far .
