One month short of his 97th birthday. 

Talk about a huge part of Pontiac being a force in the performance car world, his marketing gift was amazing.

Sad to hear but at almost 97 I'd say he got his money's worth. I've read his book several times.

/\ I bought my copy while in attendance of the 2008 Pontiac Nationals - I felt honoured to have a moment to speak to the man, and have him sign my book.

If I didn't have so much respect for the man, I would have asked him why he insisted on wearing that awful hair piece - lol.

on another forum, one guy shared the following:

Many memories of the man. Best one was driving him to his 85th birthday party in my 64 convertible with the top down. Going down Marine Drive in Portland about 55 mph and him with a death grip on his "hair". RIP sir.
